Troubled former teen star Amanda Bynes was arrested over the weekend on a misdemeanor charge of driving under the influence of drugs in Los Angeles, the California Highway Patrol said on Monday.
Bynes, 28, who has become known in recent years more for her legal troubles and bizarre public behavior than for her acting, was taken into custody Sunday at 4:10 a.m. (1110 GMT).
The former child star was determined to be under the influence of an unidentified drug after being evaluated at a nearby police station.
The actress was booked at LAPD Van Nuys Jail and held on $15,000 bail. She was “cooperative during the entire process”.
Bynes was released Sunday afternoon and is expected to appear in court on Oct. 23, 2014.
